Why would I need this? This cable will connect a FireWire 400 (6pin) device to the FireWire 800 (9pin) port of a computer.
I see that it's a panel mount. Will it work with normal devices and cables? Yes, we included the panel mount for occasions when you want to mount it to a plate to give a permanent solution. But this does not affect the operation in any way.
